Benefits of Praying and fasting

Fasting and prayers has many benefits in Ministry:

They are very many but i will point out a few:

When many Christians hear the word “Fasting” … it sends shivers and quivers through their brain. It does the same in demons. Demons know what one dedicated Christian who determines to start incorporating fasting with prayer has the ability through God to stop the rain … and to bring the rain. Demons know that as God wills, one believer in Jesus Christ incorporating fasting with prayer can call fire down out of heaven to destroy evil here on earth.

One of the most striking verses in the bible that has always ministered to me is 1 Chronicles 7: 14."if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,

From this powerful Scripture, i can rightly conclude that fasting and prayers brings about forgiveness of sins and healing from God. -The psalmist did it ( Psalms 35:13, 14- f).

A thorough study of the Bible shows that fasting makes things happen:
  • In Luke 2:37 & 38, Anna had been fasting before she got to see the Baby Jesus.
  • In Acts 10:30, we find that Cornelius the Roman was fasting when he received the vision that told him to send for Peter.
  • In Acts 13:1-4 we find that the Church of Antioch was engaged in prayer and fasting when Paul was sent to the work of an Apostle.

It worked that way in the Old Testament, too.

  • In the Book of II Chronicle 20, Jehoshaphat called all Israel to prayer and fasting before He won a battle without having to fight.
  • Haman got hung on his own gallows after Israel fasted in the Book of Esther.
  • Daniel received his great vision of Daniel 10-12 after a three week fast.
  • Moses received the Law after a 40 day fast.

- I got the vision and ministry of Hands of love during my longest time of fasting and prayers in 2004.

And there are other Scriptural examples. Daily we hear of very many testimonies of the great miracles performed by God as a result of His people fasting and praying. Failure to fast often means not only spiritual failure , but failure in aevery endevour as servants of God.
